I purchased a very sturdy chair from a local Goodwill for $1. I knew I wanted to spray paint the legs gold and cover it in off-white faux fur, but I wanted my chair to be different from all the others that I've seen on YouTube. To make my chair pop, even more, I decided to add Gold Glitter to mix! Learn how below!!
I took my chair outside and spray painted it my color of choice (Krylon's Metallic Brass). One coat was enough to cover the chair completely since this is only the base for the glitter.
Once was the chair was dry, I brought it back inside and mixed together about 1/3 of the bottle of Mod Podge (16 oz.) with the entire 2 oz container of my extra fine gold glitter.
I applied 3 coats of this mixture to my chair, letting each layer dry fully in between.
Once all the glitter layers were dry, I applied a final layer of JUST Mod Podge to the chair to seal everything in place.
I then covered my chair with 1/2 in project foam from Walmart ($9.99) and staple it into place.
It doesn't have to be perfect but it does need to be secure.
Before putting on the fabric, I measured the width of my chair and added a extra inch for an allowance. I cut the fabric to the width that I measured down the whole 2 yards.
I stapled on the fur fabric the same way I stapled on the foam cushion.
If you manage to get all that done you'll have a beautiful glittered and cozy chair to relax in!!!
