Fabric Inlaid Mirror

Hello there Hometalk Friends! Today I'm sharing how I redid a dated thrift store mirror. When I saw this mirror, I immediately thought fabric would look great in the a panel up top, so that's exactly what I did:
Not too shabby, eh? Here is the before:
For $8 I couldn't pass it up. I removed the mirror and painted the frame in DIY chalk paint...
Then I removed the top panel and used matte Mod Podge (brushed on like a glue) to attach fabric to the panel.
A little sanding brings out those pretty details that were lost in the original wood finish. Much better than the before!
I used the same fabric from Hancock Fabrics that I used on my entry way table:
That was a $20 estate sale find I redid a few months ago.
The reflection shows my dining room behind the stairs. (Don't mind the random lamp out of place on the dining room table.)

    So shabby awesome christy this one and the cottage inspired mirror are done excellent love your vision and how the thought of cozy home is always your inspiration. Have a safe fun and happy fourth of July if you make any Americana red white and blue projects post them please ;). Liz
