Gate Leg Table Stripping

I have a small house so I need to be able to tuck things away and have multipurpose furniture. I found this gate leg table in Goodwill. It folds to a nice size to be a side table
and the legs swig out on each side to but a full length table. PERFECT!
I sanded the damaged area off the table and was intending to sand the whole thing down but I was getting impatient.
I tried Superstrip, which I hear all the time how powerful it is. I slathered on a coat and let it bubble up and a lot of the finish came off.
this is after the first pass. I did a second coat and it all came off
I washed the wood down with TSP to get all the stripper off
Then I painted it with Minwzx Poly shades which is color and poly urethane in one.
and look how beautiful my table came out. LOVE IT
