Hobby Horse Makeover With Chalk Paint
I really wanted a carousel horse for my daughter's room, but those were way out of my budget. When I spotted this faded hobby horse I saw it's potential....to be made over as a colorful carousel horse!
I know I say this a lot, but this is easily one of my favorite projects ever. I just love the way the colors turned out, and how easy it was to accent the details with the huge variety of colors available.
This is what I started with. The frame and horse were in good shape, but the paint was badly worn.
Amazing what a difference paint makes!

Oh that brings back memories. My brother and I had one of these when we were tiny kids. The horse was actually made of some sort of metal and was a dappled grey with red saddle as far as I can recall. It was a favourite toy. I recall our parents selling it when we got too big for it.
