Tips for Painting Your Kitchen Cabinet Hardware

There are several ways to update your kitchen on a budget like painting and updating your cabinet drawer pulls. If you ever priced new drawer pulls they can be pricey. Sure $3 or $5 doesn't sound like much HOWEVER when you need 30 drawer pulls at that price you now can dish out $100 plus just on knobs alone! I decided that wasn't going to work for me and I wanted to spend less than $20 bucks, so I resorted to painting my drawer pulls and it was the BEST decision EVER! Here is the tutorial below:
I started out with these old brass knobs.
I removed all of them and soaked them in hot soapy water then scrubbed them with an SOS pad. This allowed me to not only clean the knob but the scouring pad also lightly buffed up the surface too which helps the paint adhere.
Here are my cabinets with all of the knobs removed.
And here is the final product! I used primer and oil rubbed bronze spray paint to give my old outdated brass knobs a new look.
And here is another view of the cabinets after the hardware was put back on. The rich oil rubbed bronze color looks great with the cream color cabinets and wall color.
