Fifteen years after inheriting this antique table from my mother-in-law, I finally decided that it was time to get some chairs that would compliment the handsome lines of the piece. We finally decided upon a chair in a very basic form. There was just one problem, I could only find the chairs in white. So I purchased the chairs thinking, "I can always paint them." This was easier said than done because while the chairs were hardwood, they had an almost plastic-like finish. I set about finding a solution to my problem. After looking high and low, I discovered Rust-Oleum 2X Ultra Cover Paint + Primer. It actually boasted of bonding to plastic. Forging ahead, I ordered 6 cans of satin dark walnut. The result was exactly what I was looking for. Now I can appreciate the loveliness of the table and matching chairs. Ease of application and natural beauty; what more did I need?
This is the beautiful table we inherited.
And these are the chairs that needed a redo.
And here they are looking beautiful matching the table.
It looks like they were meant to be!
