My French Raised Stenciled Tables

I picked up the tables at a yard sale for 10.00 for the pair. I know, so boring. The very first thing was placement of stencils which I taped on. Next, I applied joint compound over the stencil using a smooth icing spreader for cakes.
Carefully remove your stencil as soon as you cover it with the joint compound and allow it to dry before painting.
I then painted with Annie Sloan chalk paint in Robins Egg Blue. After my 2nd coat dried, I waxed with clear and lightly sanded along the edges to distress it.
I applied a crackle medium from Michaels to the top table and when it dried I painted Annie Sloan in Old White, one coat. The French stencil can be purchased at Michaels.
I stenciled a large rose and used a smaller rose for the raised stencil which I used a plastic knife to comb the joint compound.
I used Annie Sloans dark wax to age the tables. I had a lot of fun with my project. You can use any stencil for your theme. 💞
