Canoe Rentals Sign Inspired Table

I found an old table on someone's curb that was just the perfect size to fit right in between our washer and dryer.
Now this table fits perfectly (thanks to the hubby) between our washer and dry and adds some interest to our yet to be finished laundry room and basement.

It stared off plain as could be, but by the time I was done with it, well, it had a whole new look.
The table looked like this when I spotted it on the curb. I asked my husband, who likes to do wood working, if he would add a shelf to the bottom part.
Well he got a little carried a way and ended up taking the whole thing apart and piecing it all back together with a new top and shelf. He is a perfectionist that way though, so it was all good.

Next I gave it an all over stain with a vinegar/ steel wool mixture.
And finally I added some stencils with chalkpaint inspired by a vintage CANOE RENTALS sign I found online.

I love all the furniture I see inspired by vintage signs and really wanted to try my hand at one.

@Shawn underwood Hi Shawn, for the stencils for this piece I made the canoe myself and copied paper letters onto vinyl shelf liner material. The smaller letters are from Walmart in the hardware section. I found the steel wool / vinegar recipe on Pinterest. Thank you and I I hope that helps ~ Amy
