Painting a Rustic Grey Farmhouse Finish on a Table

Let me share my version of painting a rustic grey farmhouse finish on an end table. The set originally was created to look rustic with worm holes and dings but the orangey finish is just too dated. I will share the steps I took to achieve it simply here but more in depth description and pictures will be in the linked blog post at the bottom.

This is the solid wood rustic end table as I purchased it (minus the bottom shelf which I removed prior to this photo). Years of use had it needing a good makeover. I sanded the top to smooth the worn finish then scrubbed it down well.
Two coats of Fusion Mineral Paint in little lamb grey went on next and left to dry well.

Here are more little lamb projects from my blog.
Fusions' chocolate was washed over the whole piece and wiped back. To add further age and dimension I used Fusion Mineral Paint's black wax and ageing wax as well as clear to start over all.
The hardware was spray painted an oil rubbed bronze spray paint to make it less "shiny". All was reassembled and the final look of grey barn board could not have turned out better. It sold even before posting.

Very nice. Where do you post your work? I have a hard time selling side tables. Also, where do you get your fusion paint?

You mentioned using 3 coats of poly on a kitchen table.

Did you use a clear matt brush on poly?

    TIA

What about painting only the flat surfaces and keeping the original finish on the table legs?
