I found a beautiful old church pew, but it was 12 feet long! It was way to large for the space where I intended to put it. So I enlisted the help of my son to make it the perfect size.
My son was able to cut the pew in half. Don't worry, the piece he cut will not go to waste. I already have a plan for it!
Then he removed the end from one half of the pew and reattached it to the other half of the pew. I filled in any gaps and blemishes on the wood with Swamp Mud from the Dixie Belle Paint Company.
I painted the pew with the color Drop Cloth from the Dixie Belle Paint Company.
Drop Cloth gave it a fresh, bright look but it still needed something.
My daughter made the perfect cushion.
I antiqued the pew with Grunge Glaze, also from the Dixie Belle Paint Company.
Now it's the perfect size & color for my home!

And, of course, one project leads to another! So I'm recovering my kitchen chairs using the reverse side of the fabric that I used for the pew cushion.

Please note that the estimated cost of this project does not include the cost of the pew.
