Can I put Min-wax oil base gloss polyurethane over top of semi gloss?

I have a solid walnut top coffee table that I made, I put min-wax oil base semi-gloss on it but it just don't make the grain and colors pop for me. So do I need to sand it all off and start over with Min-wax oil base gloss polyurethane?

You'll prob get he best results by sanding it first. A bit annoying, but worth it in the long run- keep us posted!

Thank you Hillela G. that is kind of what I was thinking, just was hoping there was a get lucky simpler way, I should have known I usually do my stuff with gloss I know it shows every little finger print, but it is worth it when I can see all the beauty of the grain and colors.
