It certainly is cute! I would just clean it and use as is until an epiphany hits. Would make a lovely plant stand if you need one.
Replace the tile with glass and then chalk paint it and and add liming wax to finish it.
I would just leave it as is ,it's a Little rustic looking would be great to put some plants on it
Hello Skc61089, That table is very pretty. You could clean it with Murphy's Oil Soap. You could actually disassemble the table and use it as art work. You could add a wire and hang the shelves on your wall. That way you could enjoy it for as long as you want and then put it back together and use it as a cart or a desk.
Another idea would be to screw a cork bulletin board (available in stores now that it is back to school time) making a back wall to the unit. Mount the whole structure on the wall and use it as a msg centre, important receipts, place for appt cards, mail, etc. You could also screw in some S-hooks to hang keys.
Now with people going mostly on line for major paper work, although homes often do not have large desks and filing cabinets the way they used to, they often lack mini-centres for important small paper stuff.
Bar cart they sell real good on craft show on Sunday night TV. It's beautiful I would cover art with glass or plexi glass.
I have to agree that is beautiful as it is.The tiles add beauty and character to the piece,so I sure would not take them out.If you were going to use it for a plant stand,do as Susieq2953 said and put plexiglass on top to protect it from water.
Paint it , just tape off the tile . Add a small lamp , also put a letter of your last name .On the bottom a pretty pot of grape vines...
Turn it into a bar/coffee cart.
I vote for bar cart. Paint it. Put wheels on it. Update the top with tile or mirrors. Maybe some kind of bottle or glass holders in the bottom. clean it/ polish it/ put wheels on it and use it as an ANTIQUE BAR CART... IT LOOKS LIKE AN ORIGINAL 19th C piece ! EPR
I vote don't paint over such beauty
everyone of course, is different but when it's finished you are the one living with it. I possibly would make it a wine and bourbon table, and I would have to agree. I'm a painter I LOVE the transformation it makes but this one?I just don't think that i could... keep us posted!
If the structure is good clean it and use it as is , but my first glance said break it down into two beautiful serving trays.
A SET OF CASTORS [WHEELS ]
AND ITS A HOSTESS TROLLY
This is perfect for a bath room to hold towels and what ever, just make sure you use a good bees wax polish before putting it in a wet type of environment. You can also take a bit of favorite color of acrylic pant on an old wash cloth and rub it on the tile and then wipe off an do it again until you get the look you want. Try not to touch the wood if you do wipe it off right away with water. The bees wax will help keep the wood from absorbing the paint. Use very little paint on the rag to do this. When done and dry you can add bees wax to the tile . If you decide to put it outside or any place else like a plant stand , the wood will be protected.
I do not like to mess up other peoples art work but adding and aiding to it long life make me feel like I have saved someones soul that when into their work.
Clean it up with Murphy's Oil and some good polish. I would leave it as is with a couple of enhancements, have a custom piece of glass cut to fit and sit on top of the 4 legs and add casters and you have a nice utility table you can move as needed.
hide it???
You can purchase these tables in Mexico. Mine is at my bedside where I keep my clock. They are pretty!
I like the print so I'd clean it and add a electrical cord to one side and use it for an appliance table, blender, juicer, crock pot etc. Not clutter on the countertop. Also add small casters so you can move it around.
Or put a sheet of plywood on top on it where the legs protrude at the top, cover it with tile and add casters. Use for a movable island and use the shelves for storage or supplies.
Or clean the shelves and posts, add casters and use it for a plant stand inside or outside.
cat dog or doll bunk beds
Cart needs painted a warm color tiles are cool but if you don't like change it out with new ones, so many cool ones out there .have fun
How about a serving cart ? Clean it up, even maybe paint it or wrap the top board with contact paper, stick some wheels on the bottom.
I love a bar cart idea. The tiles are very nice but if you want to brighten it up I might pop out tiles paint the wood a lighter color of choice if the tiles are standard size I would alternate the use of tiles to change the look of the cart at whim
Put tops on the posts (simple small balls or something). Give it a little more finished look. I would darken the wood to accent the beautiful tiles. You might want to consider putting glass on the top to if the tiles are uneven. You may want to consider beefing up the wood before staining with some half round trim. Just cut and glue.
Good Luck!
