Hi Donna, if you're tired of the see through glass look you could consider painting the underside of the glass.

My daughter's mother-in-law keeps a clear vinyl cover over hers. It isn't noticeable, and makes it much easier to keep clean.

Hi Donna,
What about painting it with chalkboard paint and then they can draw on it. I am guessing you will need to sand the glass and add a primer before adding the chalkboard paint.
