Wendyrama on Feb 21, 2016The most beautiful paint for high gloss is from Fine Paints of Europe called Holland Lac. It is the most saturated oil gloss giving a hard, lacquer finish to any project. Check out their website. There is a ton of information. I'll post a picture of the transformation of the most dreadful, herringbone veneer, 70's sofa table with it as soon as I figure out how. :-)Helpful Reply

Beth H. Makemeprettyagain.blogspot on Feb 21, 2016I have painted with every paint on the market! Even the FPof E that Wendy spoke of. Are you familiar w/painting furniture? That particular paint is for an advanced painter. Very little room for error. They have a water based paint (Eco) that is a bit easier to use.The pic I attached is with that paint. Very, very glossy. My go-to paint is Advance by Ben Moore. Also a water based hybrid. Prep your piece very carefully. Glossy paint shows every mar and dust mote. Black gloss only intensifies it! Get the very best brush (unless you plan on spraying). For top coat I like the wipe on urethane by General Finishes. Very glossy and no brush marks.Helpful Reply
