How can I identify this desk?? should we keep it? Redo it?
This was given to us about 10 years ago, but we have not used it as a desk yet. It is in our spare room. The top drops down and the doors on the bottom open up and hold the top, making it a desk. Should we keep it? Redo it? It is very heavy.

I would keep it. you can always paint it for a new look.
You could paint it, what would look good is if you put easy peel contact paper on the back wall of it.
We have hauled several big pieces of furniture to the Good Will. Just had too much stuff crammed into our home. It is really freeing to get rid of the clutter.
This would make a cute potting bench outside on a covered patio after a few coats of paint and a good water proof sealer to finsh it.
it is up to you if you want to keep it or if you rather have that space for something else- you have a lot of storage with the unit - you could whitewash it, paint it, stain it just depends on how you plan to use it - it is a nice piece
I agree with Cheryl A. Is it your style. Do you need a desk. Do you have the room for it. Personally I would clean it up, polish it. Use it as a bar instead of a desk. Food prep station in a kitchen. It does have a lot of extra storage.
It is totally personal preference whether to keep it or not. There are many ways you could change up the look of it by painting, decoupaging, etc. Seems like it might be a nice piece for a guest room since its quite functional.
It’s a little tough to tell from the photos but you could have an appraiser take a look if you can’t find any marks on it anywhere. You could definitely redo it into something that you’ll enjoy using.
Ask yourself - Do I like this item? Will I find it Useful? Do I have room for it? If the answers are Yes - that is all you need to know! If there are em! moments. then think do I want to try to alter it to suit? Do I have the ability and time to do it? Do I have the vision? - Then go ahead and do it. If you are still not sure. Sell it and buy something you will like and find useful.
If you want a quick and easy redo, you could add contact paper to the back side of the shelves. It would add some color and design without having to do a complete makeover.
You can still paint this or add some contact paper. So I think this should be kept.
