How can I stop a rocking recliner from rocking?
My dad is in a nursing facility and has a rocker recliner in his room. He is staring to have problems getting out of it and falling. Is there someway to stop the rocking without major renovations to the chair?

Might try a brick or piece of wood at the back to lock it in place. Maybe one of the people at the facility can help you tilt the chair and figure out where to lock it.
We knew someone who had this problem and he laid a 4 x 4 block of wood underneath the front of the chair. When he rose, the chair did not move or lean forward and it was easier for him to rise. Another alternative would be to replace his recliner rocker with an electric self rising chair that would manually lift him. Hope this helps Debbie.
Put blocks under the back of the rockers so they can't move?
