How do I bring a 75 year old bedroom set back to life?
I just got my parents cherry wood dark mahognany bedroom set. It is worn in areas and has some white spots on it. I called a refurbisher in, he wanted a few thousand, and wanted to take it out of my home, no thank you! What can I do to bring this beautiful set back to life?

Do you want to paint it or keep the natural wood?
Christine...I have my parent's maple furniture. I just cleaned mine but you can use a good stripper, remove the stain and afterwards add polyurethane. Of course you can paint but I bet that is not an option....wasn't for me!
That's a fair amount and they do have to take it to their shop to work on it . All you can do is clean and polish it . Try Old English dark tone polish cleaner.
Oh no, I do not want to strip it. I need to know how to remove years of wax buildup, and all those white stains. It also has some wear and tear along the details of the wood. The color is so beautiful, cherry wood, I want to try to bring that color back to life, HELP!!
Please help me to bring my parents beautiful cherry wood furniture back to life. It has wear and tear after 75 years of wax buildup, and white stains, I would never want to strip it, just restore some if any of the cherry wood grain it once had! Can you please guide me through this? I want my parents to be so proud of what I did to there set! Thank you.
Wash it with Murphy's Oil Soap then see how it turns out. Then use Old English products to bring it back to life. What the furniture refurbishing contractor wanted to do is correct. Professional furniture doctors are not cheap, but if you want it done right, they do an excellent job.
