Hi Cindy, have you seen this video

Do you want to make it unglossy? If so lightly sand and use a good bonding primer. Sand again with 220 grit, then paint. You can use spray paint, or a sprayer with Latex paint or a mohair roller.

First, you need to get rid of the gloss - 220 grit sandpaper should do the trick. After that, give it a good primer and then paint.
Sand the gloss off, or use liquid sandpaper to remove it.
Sand it really well first

Hello Cindy,
There is a product called ESP that will cover any surface ready for painting and is available in Decorating departments Paint section.
Sand it down and chalk paint.
Hello you would need to remove the glossy finish before painting. Sanding or a chemical stripper might be options.
Which ever paint you use you will need to sand the surface first so the new paint has something to attach too.
I would chalk paint. It doesn't require heavy sanding.
I agree that chalk paint would most likely work well. Chalk paint is made for refinishing furniture and doesn't require any prep work. I like to use the chalky finish paint from DecoArt.
