Hi Sonya, are you talking about your kitchen cabinets? This is how mom and I painted over her entire kitchen. Its a BIG time consuming job but its not hard - just lots of steps. Remove all of your doors and drawers and put them in a place they can be both sanded a little and painted. Once everything is thoroughly sanded and cleaned - don't need to do a lot of sanding you just want to rough it up a bit. Than we did two coats of primer, three coats of paint and two coats of a semi gloss poly acrylic.
Its been YEARS and there's only one cabinet where the paint has chipped off a little. We also changed out all of the hardware and wow the difference in her kitchen was just amazing. Totally worth the effort!

Remove all doors and drawers, mark with painter's tape in a numbering pattern and also number inside where you remove them.
Put all hardware in a sealed container.
Degloss if needed.
Clean with TSP.
Prime.
Paint with self leveling cabinet paint.
Let cure 14 days then reassemble.
There are lots of Hometalk projects about doing this, and here is another link that will help. Painting cabinets isn't hard and wow it sure changes the look of the kitchen!

Take all hinges off door knobs doors lightly sand down if there is varnish on them with fine sand paper then wipe off dust then paint them if the color is light going dark you might need a primer.
You need to clean them well with TSP cleaner then remove the doors and drawers. I would recommend Fusion Mineral Paint... the colors are amazing and there is hardly any prep and the don't need a sealer.
