Oh, dear, Two, this is a difficult one. I found lots of articles on how to remove nail polish remover on wood, but not nail polish. However, the general concensus of opinion on how to remove nail polish is to lightly scrape it off with a plastic putty knife IMMEDIATELY, but if it has been allowed to sit the two suggestions are denatured alcohol, or steel wool. You would need to use a very light touch with both of these, and you would need to go with the grain with steel wool. Anyway, here's an article with pictures that may help. Otherwise, it's leave it to the professionals:

If the finish is already gone, you might try a matching stain stick to fix the small parts where the finish has been removed.
You could also sand lightly to feather out the spot, apply a matching stain, and once it dries add a poly coat over top.
If neither of those two suggestions work, you can always cover it with a pretty mat or doily :) Or, you may have to take off the rest of the finish with a good paint remover and start over. Minwax makes a very good small refinisher kid that is easy to use and affordable (Home Depot carries it). Good luck!
If the top is beyond repair you could try putting a tile top on it. Go to your local shop that sells designer tiles, you should be able to find tiles to match any decor. Good luck
