I just acquired this piece. It is solid wood TV console table. I would like to paint it to look like this. How do I do this and what color or colors do I use to get this color?

    Hi Xanthi,

The piece you are looking at has a lot of custom woodwork compared to the one you have. Here's a clearer pic of the piece you like.

To get the exact color is almost impossible - as you can tell, the pic you posted is a different color than the original piece. The piece you have also doesn't have the trim that creates the overall look. The closest you can come unless you know how to add trim and create the doors shown on the piece you posted would be to take a pic to a paint store and have them color match the main color then use a black antiquing glaze to create the shaded look. Here's a tutorial about antiquing a piece that might help you. Wishing you the best.

It looks like a medium teal base with a dark brown glaze over it. Buy your base color then a dark brown glaze. Take this picture to a stand alone paint store, they will be able to match and advise to the correct products. Good luck and have fun.

Confused. You want to paint “what”? You want it to look like ??? Perhaps a second photo is missing? We only see 1 photo on your post. Maybe try again with 2 pictures. 🤔

Hi ! I can see both pictures in your post ! I would make a basic frame for the 3 sections and attach either decorative metal or wood inserts to them . then attach with hinges . Use a magnetic catcher keep them closed and a knob to open them . Then I would use a chalk paint in a vintage teal color . ChAlk paint is easy to use and no prep like sanding is necessary , just clean it off well , first .

then seal it with wax seal in the antique finish . This goes on like stain , wipe or brush it on , the wipe it off , leaving as much on as you want . This will dry to a hard finish , not waxy ! Good luck and please post your end results !!!

Thanks, I will try this. Seems like a lot of work, but maybe not. So excited to start it and see how it turns out.

Chalk paint and antiquing wax. Wax should be right next to the chalk paint in the store.

I agree with Em, the easiest way would be chalk paint and dark antiquing wax. Brewax is the best, but Minwax makes a good dark wax too, only it has a strong odor.
