  • Use your outdoor cushion covers as your pattern. Depending upon whether or not you choose a pattern that needs to be centered or a repeat that needs to be lined up, plus cushion depth. If pattern matching and centering is not factored in, I would be purchasing 6 yards to allow for proper seams to be pressed out. If you choose a pattern, it can take more. I would take one of each with me in the car, just in case.

It would be in your best interest to take the cushions to a reliable fabric store who knows the profession

Kyle, you always want to look for a pattern at a store, just for an idea. Or, check out some patterns in booklets, or garage sales. For this item, be sure to double stitch, several times, for added strength, ok? Best wishes, Judy.

I do upholstery work, and have done it for a living. Depending on the width of your fabric, if it is 45" or wider. Are you just doing the rocker? Then you should be good with 2 1/2 yds. Always best to have a little extra.

For the rocker and couch a total of 4 cushions you need 10 yards and add 1 yard just in case.

I would bring the cushion into the fabric store and have the clerk measure for you. Fabricland staff are fantastic and always very helpful.

It's pretty simple, really. Just take your fabric inside out and pin it around the cushion, leaving one end open, then remove the cushion, sew those edges, put the cushion back in, fold in the edges and sew them by hand or you can put velcro or a zipper in, so that you can remove the cushion and wash the covers.Let me know how it works out...

Measure the cushions or take one to a fabric shop and ask them the question, then x it by the cushions yu need recovered.
