My bathroom is teen ,tiny, with no windows. The vanity is 25 years old and dark. Any easy ideas how to lighten it up without removing it as well?

Just sand the wood and paint with a glossy light color. Change the handles and drawer pulls to update.

I would paint it a really light color that will go with the décor of your bathroom. Just make sure you tape off everything you don't want paint to get and remove the hardware if there is any to paint easier. Make sure you clean and prep well before you paint according to the paint you are planning on using.

Lightly sand with 200 grit sand paper. Wipe it down with a damp cloth. Prime with Kilz primer. Then paint you color. Seal with three coats of a water based polyurethane.

If your vanity has a door pull, switch it out for one with chrome, which reflects more interior light, as would changing sink faucet to chrome, in a single handle type.

You may even consider adding some mirror tiles to the front and a small, reflective backsplash of glass tiles or similar. If you install a single handle faucet with pop up at the back of faucet, make sure the handle operation won't be compromised by your backsplash tiles.
