Hello Ms. Ritu. Here's some info about a process you might consider. Also, the use aged looking "old world" maps might be a way to cover the sides or top of the piece.
That is a really deep chest and great for storage.
Go chalk paint. It dries fast with no special prep. 2 coats after you wash any dirt or oily prints off of it. Hit the edges with a little sandpaper in spots after you let the paint dry for a day. and use antiquing wax on edges. Use a TINY bit of wax it goes a LONG way. Just a tiny bit on a rag (you can add more but tougher to take off) to edges where fingers would touch around knobs and edges.
You could paint it a cream color and then add a brown glaze. If you like the "chippy" look, scuff with a sanding block.
