I have a white washed entry way table. What can I use to change color?

GrandmasHouseDIY on Feb 05, 2016If its white washed you will probably want to sand it down first and/or even run a coat of stripper over it as its likely there is some kind of poly on it to protect it. After that yup you can absolutely stain it any color you like! :)Helpful Reply

Janet Pizaro on Feb 05, 2016You will have to strip the existing finish or the new stain will not adhere correctly.Helpful Reply

KatAych on Feb 05, 2016What ^^^ said! Since it's white washed, it won't take much with sanding, which you should do anyway if you're going to stain it a darker color. Post pics when done, please! Would love to see the piece before/after!Helpful Reply

Kenna Elijah on Feb 06, 2016Thanks for the help about my table. I will put a before & after picture as soon as I can. Been kind of cold out, (even in our garage) to start doing it now. But as soon as it starts getting warmer out, I'll be on it! 😀 Thanks again!Helpful Reply

Lori on Feb 06, 2016Without a picture this may not even be do able, but there are some beautiful tables with stained tops and painted bottoms. This would save a lot of the sanding. Go on Pinterest and search painted and stained furniture, something to do till it warms up. ❄️🌫😁⛅️🌤☀️😀Helpful Reply
