The cabinets are 30 years old cannot afford to replace them. They originally were formica that has been painted with latex paint that is wearing in some spots. Rather than trying to repaint I would like to put contact paper over them. Need tips and suggestions

If the paint is peeling the contact paper will not adhere correctly.Use citristrip a safe non-toxic paint remover first.Helpful Reply -

I think contact paper will look terrible...and I doubt will last with use. You might want to just bite the bullet and repaint..perhaps distress them country style to hide imperfections ?Helpful Reply -

I did my sisters kitchen cabinets one in about 30 minutes. I dipped a bath scrunchie in blue paint to accent her brown cabinets and it's still there after 15 years. This link might give you some easy ideas that would make them look newer with out the cost and time.https://www.google.com/search?rlz=1C1BLWB_enUS700US700&biw=1422&bih=684&tbm=isch&sa=1&ei=sCpaWpjIFpiejwPun4OICA&q=everyday+things+to+paint+with+besides+rollers&oq=everyday+things+to+paint+with+besides+rollers&gs_l=psy-ab.3...5707.7202.0.7400.8.8.0.0.0.0.73.431.7.7.0....0...1c.1.64.psy-ab..1.0.0....0.iRkKNd0Gv68Helpful Reply -
