You can make a base on which to set the table or depending upon how much higher you need it, adding casters might give you the height you require.
You will need a drill with 1" wooden bit, one 4' or 6' - 1" dowel
One piece of board same size as the top from end to end, also the thickness (Match as close as you can)
Turn side table upside down.
Drill holes under the legs close to the end, front and back and one in the center. Approximately hole depth: 1/2 of the thickness of the new board.
You don't want to go too deep.
Cut and place pieces of dowel in holes to the hight you need.
Don't forget to include the thickness of the new board
Place the new board on top of dowels.
Make sure everything is nice and square.
Draw with pencil circle around the dowels to the new board
so you will know exactly where to drill the holes on new board
Again drill only 1/2 the depth of the board.
glue everything together, allow to dry. ( Voila )
with the dowel, it will look good and give you an extra shelf.
Good luck. Georges.
