Hi Gord! Yes you can definitely can. However, there are other ways to lighten up the space without paint. 1) Add some stainless hardware for bling. 2) Change out the tan tiles for glass subway. See how that works for you.

Lots of ideas here, and if you love the lighter look go for it, but suddenly dark wood cabinets are all the rage again. So you might want to stick with what you have!
