Plastic on antique dresser. What do I do?

I am refinishing a dresser, and upon stripping, i discovered that the trim on the drawers is actually plastic, and turns to a goopey substance when mixed with the stripper. There is no way to take it off...what should I do?

There is a plastic filler you can apply to the trim to fix that. Once it is dry cover it with painters tape and continue with your project.
