The restored dresser - keep original knobs?

There were some suggestions to paint this piece but instead, it had a very sympathetic restoration, including leaving some of the dings and scratches and almost all the old patina. It's completely handmade included the dovetail joinery on the drawers. The interior carpentry was falling apart so there was much gluing and replacing of door slides, etc. The one thing that is different is that it originally had large white porcelain knobs which were switched out with wood knobs that were antiqued a slightly darker brown. What do you prefer?

beautiful piece. Sometimes you just have to leave it as is. I like the wooden knobs so much better then the white ones

If you really want a different look , just take the originals off and save them as is. You can always put them back on again. They are lovely.

I love the fact that you gently restored a vintage piece of furniture! Beautiful! I do like the knobs shown, but a vintage piece might have the porcelain knobs. Either will be beautiful. I have a vintage slant-front desk that I'm planning on restoring soon and originally I was going to sand and paint it. Now, seeing your finished piece, I may go with the gentle restoration as you have done.

The piece is beautiful as is but if you want to "jazz" it up a bit, take a trip to Hobby Lobby and look at their knoobs. If you find ones you like, just replace them with one screw knobs and then save the wood ones if you decide to sell or change back to original.
