I have 4 patio chairs and the cushions have dry rotted and I cannot find new ones that will fit. It is the seat and the back cushions and the are large. I keep them on the front porch and they get quite a bit of sun and occasionally the rain blows in on them. Thanks for the advise

  • You can buy foam that is specifically for outdoor use - try Amazon, and they also make outdoor fabric. I've seen it in Joann's. Good luck with your project!

I would use Marine Grade Upholstery Material since it’s made to withstand sun and sea.

Sunbrella, Solarium and Waverly are just a few of the popular outdoor fabric brands. If there is a Joann Fabrics near you, sign up for their online or text coupons. They seems them out for 20-50% off one item or sometimes your WHOLE ORDER! I'm sure other retailers do the same, check them out in your area, you will often get a special introductory coupon worth BIG discounts. Great way to save some $.

You can get the Foam from JoAnns or from a boat or Marine place generally it’s less expensive there. You want outdoor foam if you don’t use marine grade fabric make you seal your fabric . Theres outdoor spray pain’t for boots and clothes you can on your outdoor furniture.

OR you can You can cover your outdoor chairs with a good plastic Tablecloth.

A lady I knew always used Holiday Neutral Colors. She‘d Buy an expensive plastic tablecloth, after the Holidays she recovered her outdoor Furniture and glider.

She used an inexpensive foam with the thickness she liked. She used thick plastic bags ( industrial kind) or 9 ml plastic, wrapping the cushion w/plastic then covered with her tablecloth.

By the time the next Holiday or two rolled around she was ready for a new look!

    Good Luck ☘️And have Fun!
