Scandinavian Style MCM Dresser Makeover
I was given this cute like midcentury modern dresser and it included free delivery.
Free furniture that had great bones that I can salvage from a landfill is my jam!
The six drawer dresser has these panels on each drawer and I brainstormed for way more hours than I care to admit about how I wanted to transform this piece.
I decided on mocking up a Quick visual and decided to paint the areas around the panels a beautiful color called Earthern Ash by Wise Owl Paint. It’s their enamel paint. Clearly I’m an artist with this complicated mock up! Ha
I sanded all the panels down and the top of the piece revealing the beautiful wood grain.
I had the perfect brush from Zibra called the square brush to fit around the panels.
Once I painted around the border of the drawers I took a portion of this stencil with a cream enamel paint and gave it a scandi vibe. I used a small artist brush and just a dab of paint will do ya.
I ended up painting the sides and the legs the same color as the drawer borders and I shined the hardware up with Brasso.
Wood grains and earthy tones for the win!

It doesn’t have to cost a lot to update your space when you don’t mind a little DIY. It’s just paint!
Frequently asked questions
Have a question about this project?
I have a chest in my loft that I got several years ago, thought it was blond wood but it appears it is just a finish over cheap stuff. TV sits on it. Can I paint over his? Or sand? I'm afraid to use stripper as it is not real. Help!!
