The Old Toolbox That Was Meant To Be

I love a project that has a good story with it and this old toolbox has a great story of how it came to be in our home. The old toolbox was so heavy and really worn, but after we got it to our home, I saw the potential and started working in it right away.
There is great storage in this toolbox. The inside houses three drawers! Any time I can add storage to my home, I am all over it.
The first thing I did was repair the veneer that was loose and then I scraped the dark brown paint that was on the outside of the toolbox. There were old casters on the bottom of the box that I wish could have been saved, but they were bent and a couple were broke so I had to replace them with some other casters I had in the garage.
I painted the box "Liquorice" from Country Chic Paint. I love the black color against the original hardware on this box.
This piece has made the best addition to my son's room. He can sit on it. He can store all of this Legos and basketball cards in it. He can move it around if he needs to and he can use it as a chalkboard as well because of the chalk-based paint on it!
I am so happy this piece made it to our home! Sometimes, things are just meant to be.

Nice! I have an old tool box I'm using as a coffee table in the living room. It's crazy colours, but I don't want to take the colour off. It's part of the charm! You did an excellent on yours!

@Katie Thank you Katie. Yay, the paint was coming off in places so I needed to take it off and repaint. I love to find pieces with the original paint still on it!
