Why I Bought This Table and Chairs

Do you see this sad little child's table and chairs? Why would I buy them, this set has really seen better days. The table and chairs had been painted many times, and then had contact paper applied over the paint. BUT, the set was so incredibly sturdy after just tightening up the bolts, I knew I could give it a new life.
First step was to peel off all of the contact paper, not an easy job.
This is what I was left with, a gummy, black, sticky surface.
Take my advice and try to scrape off as much of that stickiness as you can before going in with the sandpaper. I went through so much sandpaper because that black goo just gummed up the sandpaper.
After lots of work I ended up with this beautiful, structurally sound table! Time to paint!
I taped off the different sections of the table that I wanted to be different colors and went to work!
Here you go! A cute little table and chairs for my granddaughters to use when they visit, both for tea parties and coloring! All red, white and blue to fit in with the Nautical Nursery I created for them!
