I purchased this little side table many, many years ago. I loved the decor, which fit my style at the time. My living room was English Cottage then. Now, it is more of a softer, serene French Cottage. I didn't want to get rid of the table, so I painted it.
I cleaned the table and then decided on what paint colors I wanted. The room the table was to go in is the living room. The colors in there are soft gray, soft yellow and blue...so I decided a light neutral gray
Here's the table after one coat of a soft gray chalk paint.
This paint has a little texture in it, that's fine - I wanted some patina to the table.
I always like to add a little interest to my painted furniture. I stenciled in each corner and on the sides
To give the table a little patina, I added liming wax. This lightened the table and gave it some interest.
I love how I didn't have to get rid of a favorite table when I changed my room's decor - just paint it!
