Giving Old Suitcases New Life

My friend had a storage of old suitcases, many still in pretty decent condition but they weren't reselling well. So with a little TLC I have extracted liners, replaced inside material (adding a fabric sheet inside does wonders) and repainting and fixing latches and handles with a little unique finesse.
I started by washing and cleaning the suitcases. Inside and out. I also made an necessary repairs first.
Then I looked extensively for all kind of patterns. I made my own stencils out of old folders. Spray painted several coats of Krylon for plastics in Satin color then stenciled designs. I didn't like how they had the stencil barriers so i did touch ups with satin.
They still needed more spice so on the sides I repainted black (covering the zippers with vaseline. Then speckled the satin color to match.
Speckles!
The sides were harder as they had little notices.
The back I kind of liked it plain with just my bird logo and initals.
Then O took $50 resale suitcases and made them into $200 suitcases and show them off locally at art events.
Suggested materials:
  • Krylon spray paints for plastic   (Walmart)
  • Stencils   (made them)

Very creative! Did you use any kind of sealer on them? I'd love to see the refurbished insides too! Hope you took pictures!
