These two paints are increasing in popularity as the trend for antiqued, distressed and chippy furniture continues. The paints have wonderful soft textured looks - even when you get it wrong - the pieces look so right. You can layer your paint colors or just add coats until you are happy with the result. Add a dark or clear wax or a finishing oil for the final touch. Best of all, these paints need little to no prep work. That's definitely one reason that everyone loves them.
What look do you want? That depends on the paint. Milk paint is easy to use and great for that chippy look. Add a bonding agent and it sticks beautifully.
It's best to use the right kind of brush.. but you can use anything. This brush is perfect for chalk paint and milk paint. You can also use it to apply wax into the grooves and crevices of your furniture to give it a wonderful antique look.
Start with the kind of look you want, find recipes or buy the powders and paints if that suits you. If you have a difficult piece, chalk paint can paint anything from plastics to veneers. Both paints need little to no preparation!
Chalk paint is becoming popular in kitchens as well as for furniture pieces.
This milk paint chippied furniture piece is a wonderful red. You can make your own colors, mix them or layer them. These two paints are a wonderful creative tool for anyone who loves to paint.
