My bedroom furniture is black and I'm trying to find a color to paint my room.

Everything goes with black, so you can choose any color you love. I would pick a grey with a lavender undertone, like Benjamin Moore's Collingwood or Balboa Mist. It would be a soft and soothing bedroom.

Research Behr.com for color inspirations. Once you find a color that pleases you purchase a sample and see if you like the color in your home based on lighting and your other decor.

I find my color inspirations from artwork, bedding, rugs, vases, etc. Find your accessories and go from there.

Color choice is very personal. If I were you I would simply go to a paint chip section at a paint store or hardware store, and see what looks restful or peaceful. We recently painted a bedroom soft blue gray. It would look nice with black furniture. I might also be drawn to a clear light blue. But that's just me. Paint is wonderful self expression. Paint what makes you happy.

perhaps, if you also described the quality of light in your room, your favorite colors, any bed linens, artwork, ANYTHING that would give a sense of you and your room, you may get more useful answers

I love black furniture with a black and white toile fabric spread and pillows and curtains with second hand store procured white sheers in a bright white room. Whatever you do, be sure to paint a fairly large patch on the wall to see if you can live with it for at least a week -- we painted one of the kid's rooms purple once because I thought it was lovely, but it made the daughter's heart beat wonky so we immediately had to repaint! Have fun!
