I have read opposing information. Some say yes and some say no. I would really like to if I can find something that will adhere to the granite. Thank you!

Sell the granite top on Craig's list and buy a new one. Anything can be painted but the probability of it lasting is questionable.

I really don't think painting the granite would work very well.... Would changing the color of the cabinet make it look better...dark gray, navy blue, etc..... or a different colors in the bathroom, to make the counter top blend in and be less in you face. Also if the counter top is fairly small... you may be able to find a remnant at a granite place and replace it for under $100.. and if it is good condition you could reuse the sink.... or take the opportunity and give the bathroom an up date and get a new vanity or sink or both.

I don't think paint would stick to real granite since it is such a smooth surface. I would sell it and buy something you like.

    Maybe try using Contact paper!

Hi Mia: Yes, you can paint it, but over time, most likely a short time, the paint will scratch, lift, peel, etc., and you won't be happy :( Instead, I'd get some items to put on the countertop that add a splash of colour and interest. Or, you can even get a new sink insert. Check this site, select your type of sink, i.e., drop in, undermount, etc., and then look at the selections: Bathroom Sinks - The Home Depot

Paint will not adhear to granite well. It would be a burdon to try to keep it clean and free of scratches. I would try to sell it, and get a new top. Short of that, can you make changes in the colors in the room to make the granite go better with your taste. Granite is expensive and durable and would be a sin to ruin it.
