Can plaster of paris be tinted?

I would like to use this in a project, but wish to tint it with acrylic paint.

    yes it will work. tinting with acrylics may leave the plaster able to dye items it comes into contact with

    Yes, mix the acrylic paint into the wet plaster, I've never had it transfer onto anything

    Yes. Try adding dry tempera paints a spoonful at a time until you get the right color. Do a test run first to see how the color fades when dry. You can buy dry tempera paint at most hobby/art stores.

    As a decor Artist of many years i would like to give a simple yes.. however due to many changes of chemical arrangements of the past decade i suggest firmly that you research/test by mixing/& using in a small amount into a throw out container(all good decor persons keep some good shape plastic packaging from food goods for this purpose) & then do your test patch(usually @ back or underneath item)..


    By being a little thorough, doing research, one does not waste good products;& yes i always suggest to purchase decent goods//not cheap also..for the plethera of problems ~
