Can you paint over old wallpaper???

    As long as its not loose or peeling, have at it. Of course if there's a texture or pattern that will show.

    if the wallpaper isn't loose, you can use a primer on the wallpaper and then paint over it. Sometimes you need to sand the seams before priming so they won't be noticeable. I hung wallpaper for many years and have primed and painted many times with beautiful results. Taking wallpaper down can be a huge job especially if the walls were not primed before the wallpaper was put up.

    First, make sure all your seams are good and tight. Then give it a good coat of primer to prevent bleed-through. Then use the paint of your choice.

    Best to remove! There is always the chance moisture in paint can cause the wallpaper paste to break bond, paper to bubble, and separate. With it painted it will be harder to remove in the future.

    It's not a good idea for good long term results. Best to remove it!
