Hi John personally i've found it to be exactly the same result. However, I ensure that I measure carefully so that I have the same consistent result, particularly when I have to mix more paint for a larger piece. Good luck.

As long as the homemade chalk paint is mixed thoroughly and in small batches, it is good. It costs much less. And it’s fun to use. ☺️
