Do I need to strip stain off 2015 on redwood deck before staining?

    yes the stain will not adhere correctly

    Clean with Dawn dish liquid and rinse. Let dry in the sun untill dry then you can apply stain as long as you are not wanting to use lighter stain. If you want lighter stain effect you need to sand the old stain down.

    No, just do a quick sanding if the wood is rough and use a new Behr product that refinishes right over the original wood - Behr's Premium DeckOver.

    not if you are staying in the same color/color family. just pressure wash with deck cleaner first, allow to dry thoroughly, then add your deck stain according to their directions.
