Have fun!
Without a picture it's kind of difficult to know the true colors you have to work with on your house. I have what is called "clinker brick" on our house and it has a tan, black, yellowish and other colors in it. I have black shutters and the siding and trim are painted in Sherwin Williams "porpoise". The fall colors look terrific with it, but the rest of the year it is a bit tricky to decorate around.
I had a difficult time figuring out what color to paint the front door. Tried a tannish color to pick up the brick and it ended up looking like baby poop. Didnโt want to do the porpoise either as it just didnโt balance properly on the door with the rest of the trim. So, after much deliberation and swatch perusing, I ended up painting it black. It looks rich and is a good background color for whatever I decide to put on the door. Not very creative, but working with this brick is not easy. Maybe I am just lacking in creativity, but there comes a time when basic black works best.
Hopefully, you will find a perfect color for your house. Good luck. Maybe you could send a before and after picture and give me some ideas too. :->
Red is my guess but are you wanting a door that stands out or one that blends in?
