Do I need to let chalk paint cure for a week or put another layer?
I just painted a wooden desk with two coats of white chalk paint. Do I need to put something else on it before I use it. I want to put my laptop and printer on top but I don't want the paint to start getting knicked. Do I just need to let it cure for a week or put another coat of something else on it.

After 2-3 layers of chalk paint, sand it and then you need to wax it. Then apply hardware.

You can use polycrylic as well. Polycrylic lasts longer than wax and doesn't need to be reapplied. Make sure that it's water-based so it doesn't yellow. I like to use about 3 coats in a satin finish.
