How can i remove paint that was used to cover an enamel kitchen sink

paint is rough and worn in places where you can see the original color underneath. would love to refinish sink to a glossy durable color

    It depends on the type of paint. Some paints can be removed with A paint stripper You can find paint stripper in paint stores or paint departments in Lowes, Menards or Home Depot. Most are nasty, toxic chemicals and proper eye protection and good respirators are required. A somewhat less nasty stripper is called Safer-Stripper by 3-M. It is not as good as the more toxic formulations but may do the job.

    The paint might be epoxy and stripper won't work on that. Wet sanding would be the only chance to get it off. If it is epoxy you could just knock the finish down to A smooth state and respray with more epoxy. Again, eye protection and A respirator as epoxy is very toxic to breathe.
