Hi, Mamabear318! Is it a ceramic floor that needs an update? There are stencils available for floor tile that can be used with paint to update plain floors. Cutting Edge and Royal Stencil are two companies that create the stencils as well as tutorials for updating a floor. I hope this helps!

  thanks but NO stenciling. home decor just does not lend itself to that. it is a burning dated floor but the cabinets are perfect hickory but thanks for the suggestion

  it is kitchen, powder bath, laundry room and breakfast room. cabinets are a very traditional hickory in perfect condition. not interested in stenciling. I am almost a out to take a hammer to it and then put down new but my husband says no. the house is being sold and it is a very large nice house but this ugly floor. MBath was totally updated along with flooring in entire main level and this floor is weighing down the upgrades. thanks

I'm sorry , other than stenciling , I am not sure what you can do ...there might be a paint that you can roll over it and then seal it . I would contact a tile flooring company . You can't even lay down a peel and stick vinyl wood look
planks , because you need a flat surface , the grout lines would show thru 😕
