I would spray paint with something opaque. Just clean and wipe down with denatured alcohol then after that dries, you are ready. Make sure your spray paint is for glass.
Do you have a project you'd like to use them for in mind? If they're cleaned and completely free of wax, you can spray paint them for a quick, easy solution. You can also use glass paint which you can find at craft/hobby stores.
Using glass paint would make the designs sparkle with candles inside.
Purchase stained glass paint. Also can use white glue and food dye. Seal with clear spray.

The quickest and easiest way is to spray paint them. You could use an opaque spray paint, or one of those pretty translucent sea glass spray paints. They also have chalk spray paints now for a matte finish.
Thank you for your response!
Just paint with any paint
Once the wax is out and there is no residue remaining you can spray them with any color you like. I often spray glass with high gloss white to mimic milk glass or cream matte paint to mimic stoneware. I also like frosted paint, those are fun pieces to decoupage with napkins. Here are some links.

You can paint glass with Fusion Mineral Paint. There is no prep and you don't need to seal it but you can.
