How do I pick a dramatic paint color for a small entryway?

It is very small with my grandfather clock as the center. I want a dramatic color! My colors around my home are grey, white, black, buffalo check

Blues look good with gray. So do yellow and red. Gray is considered a neutral, just about anything goes with it. Pull out an old fashioned color wheel and take a look. Then buy samples and test before deciding on a color.
a rich plum color would look nice!

I have the same colors in my home too. I use a mustard yellow, lime green, and a peachy-pink as accent colors. I think either of these would make a beautiful statement wall.
