How do I remove paint from an old bathtub?

I just bought a house built in 1950. One bathroom has the original bathtub. There is paint on the inside and top edges. I was able to remove what was on the bottom of the tub by peeling and by using a plastic scraper. The paint on the sides and top are too thin to scrape or peel...no discernable edges to attack. I think it's latex paint. Any suggestions on how to remove the paint without damaging the tub?

Use paint stripper and steel wool. That will get the paint out of the dimpled areas.
Citristrip is a natural paint stripper that will most likely work as well.
